Frankenmuth, Bronner's CHRISTmas

The charming, historic town of Frankenmuth, MI, is full of fun things to see and do!

 

We will stay at the Bavarian Inn Lodge and be treated with delicious food during our days there, including dinner with live music, two German breakfast buffets, a wine sampling at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, and a family style dinner at the restaurant. Founded in 1950 by the entrepreneurial Zehnder family, the Bavarian Inn Lodge has stayed in the family for four generations, and the Zehnders takes pride in doing hospitality well. In fact, the family will often circulate the inn, greeting and seating guests, clearing tables, and doing anything else that needs to be done! Interestingly, the founding Zehnders encouraged other businesses in Frankenmuth to build and remodel their buildings in the classic German style we see in the town today.

 

 

 

Of course, we will also visit Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland! This famous store started from humble beginnings, quickly growing through several expansions to become the World's Largest Christmas Store, with beautifully landscaped grounds covering 27 acres. But for originator Wally Bronner, the journey has always been about CHRIST, and "decorating hearts with peace and love." 

 

 

We will provide you with plenty of time to enjoy Frankenmuth, known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria," for the city's German heritage and German architecture. Explore the unique shops and dining options, including world-famous fried chicken. We'll also tour Michigan's oldest woolen mill, the Frankenmuth Woolen Mill, established in 1894. Still standing on its original foundation, the mill has always used locally-sourced wool to create high-quality products. We'll get to be a small part of that with an opportunity to make our own woolen dryer balls to take home!
