Our first night we arrive in Triadelphia, WV and stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites. On day two, we will drive into Pennsylvania where we will be greeted by our local expert guide, first for a tour of Kentuck Knob, a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home “…where architecture and sculpture are seamlessly integrated into the beautiful landscape. Located in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, Kentuck Knob, an excellent illustration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian architecture, is embraced daily by visitors from all parts of the globe.” Tonight and night 3 we will stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Uniontown, PA
Then we will have lunch at Falls Market, located in the heart of the tiny village of Ohiopyle. After lunch, enjoy time exploring the village, located within the Ohiopyle State Park, to view a waterfall, stroll along the river, or stop in the Ohiopyle Visitor Center which offers exhibits and views of the river and falls.
Next, we’ll visit Fort Necessity National Battlefield. You’ll learn about the historical importance of the fort and the events that took place there on July 3rd, 1754. Afterwards, we will have a delicious dinner at the Historic Stone House Restaurant. Tonight and the following evening will be spent at the Hilton Garden Inn in Uniontown, PA.
The next morning we will visit Fallingwater, “a house designed in 1935 by renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright
(1867-1959). The house was designed as a private residence and weekend home for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner, Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr. Fallingwater is one of Wright’s most widely acclaimed works and best exemplifies his philosophy of organic architecture: the harmonious union of art and nature.” Travel + Leisure Magazine declare it “One of the
12 landmarks that will change the way you see the world.”
Afterwards, we will have an elegant luncheon at the Historic Summit Inn Resort. The Inn boasts well over 100 years of providing hospitality. You're invited to enjoy their welcoming front porch, featuring spectacular mountaintop views of the valley below. Later, we will also visit the Christmas House.
Day 4, we will begin our journey home, staying at the Hampton Inn in Wheeling, WV for the evening before
arriving home on the 17th with wonderful memories!
