The first evening, we’ll arrive in Clarksville and check into the Courtyard by Marriott, our home for three nights, and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Day 2, we’ll begin the day at a Bluegrass Brunch, accompanied by the musical stylings of the local band ‘Passenger Creek’. Their banjo player (John Doubler) is the great-grandson of ‘Opry Legend’ Uncle Dave Macon, and the band also features a 3-time state fiddle champion! You won’t find finer bluegrass music anywhere in the world.

Next, we will visit the Old Glory Distilling Co. Then, in the afternoon, we will visit the small town of Bon Aqua, TN to visit the Storyteller Museum where we’ll learn about Johnny Cash, Red Wortham, and the connections between the building and some of the great musicians who made Sun Studios in Memphis famous. Next, it’s on to the Johnny Cash Hideaway Farm, the place that Johnny called “the center of his universe”. You’ll have a chance to visit his farmhouse, hear stories about his time there, and see the famed “One Piece at a Time” car, before partaking in a lovely country dinner served in the farmyard. Afterwards, you’re in for quite the concert, performed by Hilary Williams (daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. and granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr.) and Mark Alan Cash (nephew of Johnny Cash and son of Tommy Cash). They’ll sing, tell stories, and share insights into life growing up around the legends in their families during this special musical evening under the stars.

Day 3 will begin with a visit to the award winning Clarksville Downtown Market, where we’ll take a little time to stroll around, sample fresh baked goods and shop the arts and crafts on offer. Then, we’ll travel back in history to Collinsville, a ‘living history’ pioneer settlement in rural Montgomery County featuring 16 restored log homes and outbuildings over 40 rolling acres. You’ll visit with docents and learn about the history of the area before enjoying a ‘Southern Fried Gospel Luncheon Show’. We’ll spend the rest of the day at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, a wonderful attraction with food vendors, shopping, and more! While there, we’ll attend the “4th of July Legacy Concert” (even though we will be there on July 1st). This show stars Tayla Lynn & Tre Twitty, the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn and grandson of Conway Twitty, respectively. Together they will thrill the crowd with stories about their legendary families and share beautiful music with us all. A fireworks display will cap off the evening before we return to Clarksville for the night.

The following morning, we’ll have breakfast before we head home with a song in our hearts and great memories of our trip to Clarksville featuring the Grandkids of Country Music!
